FAQ

Slime Care

Help, my slime is sticky. Is it ruined?
NO. Your order includes a small packet of borax and instructions to dissolve it into 1 cup of warm water. (DO NOT ADD BORAX POWDER DIRECTLY TO SLIME!) Let the solution cool and add it to the slime a few dops at a time. Be careful not to use too much or you will make your slime hard and not stretchy. Too much borax will also make beads, sand, etc. fall out.

My slime has fallout:
Please do not play vigorously with slime with add-ins. Fallout can occur with crunchy textures. Play over a tray or bowl if you experience this. Fallout is also a natural characteristic of slime that is starting to dry out. All slime has a limited shelf life depending on how often it’s played with and how well it’s taken care of.

Slime not stretchy?
You can add a few drops of vegetable glycerin to help soften a harder slime. If it is an opaque slime you can also add lotion to try to soften it up.

Why is my clear slime foggy?
Clear slimes will get foggy over time due to the natural oils on your hands.

When will my order ship?
If you place an order before 3pm, most orders will ship the same day.  On bi-monthly restocks (every other Friday) there is a higher volume of orders.  We are such a small shop, but most orders will be delivered to the Post Office and UPS by the following Monday or Tuesday.   You will receive an email with your tracking number when your shipping label is printed.

Is there an age restriction for slime?
Children under 7 should not play with slime without adult supervision. Slime can stick to just about anything (Remember its mostly glue.). Slime can be dissolved using vinegar or lemon juice.

How long will my slime last?
Slime should last for a long time as long as it is taken care of properly. Always keep it in an airtight container and a cool environment. Make sure to wash your hands before and after playing with slime so that it does not get dirty and produce bacteria.

However, slime does not last forever since it is a liquid substance! Slime will lose its moisture and may shrink or melt overtime. Slime that is properly cared for should last for a few months.

What do the levels mean?
The levels are mainly a guide for those who are new to slime or who are buying slimes for younger children.  Certain slimes are easier to play with than others.  Clear slimes or slimes with add ins are usually the stickiest to play with.  Think of the slime like its hot and move quickly.  Slimes with clay are usually easier to handle.
